Mr. Md. Asaduzzaman, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Law & Human Rights of University of Asia Pacific elected as a Member of Executive Council of Asian Association of Law Professors

 

The 1st International Conference on “Realising Asian Century: Understanding International Law & Governance” was held at Kathmandu, Nepal from 9-11 July 2019. Nearly 100 delegates attended the conference from different parts of the world, including Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore and Vietnam. Mr. Md. Asaduzzaman, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Law & Human Rights of University of Asia Pacific, Bangladesh attended the Conference as a paper presenter. The title of his paper was ‘Role of International Law for Sustainable Development in South Asian Region’.

The participating professors of the Conference formally established an international association namely Asian Association of Law Professors (AALP). The Association is aimed at developing greater partnership and deeper relations between the law schools in South Asia in particular and Asia in general. This association is expected to work towards significant development of legal scholarship and greater interaction of legal scholars with growing working partnership.

Mr. Md. Asaduzzaman has got the privilege to become one of the founding members of Asian Association of Law Professors. He has also been unanimously elected for the first term of 3 years as a Member of Executive Council of the Association in the First General Meeting of AALP held at Kathmandu, Nepal on 10 July 2019.
